In 2017, our founder and CEO, Dr. Brad Hobbs, Ph.D., found himself sitting in a mud hut in northern Uganda, surrounded by South Sudanese refugees who had fled more than 25 years of brutal civil war. There was no functioning economy. No education system. Trauma and displacement had fragmented everything, including the local church.

Brad was there with leaders from UNICEF, the World Hunger Organization, Coca-Cola Consolidated, and the Bishop of East Africa. In that unlikely gathering, a bold question surfaced:

What if churches, nonprofits, and businesses could steward their resources not just sustainably, but transformationally, together?

That question sparked a vision and action. They built a model that introduced bartering systems, created jobs, launched education frameworks, and planted churches as community hubs for economic and generational renewal.

It worked.
